This diet is quite extreme because it is done by swallowing tapeworm eggs. Then the tapeworms are allowed to hatch and grow up to eat the food in the host's intestines. After weight loss, tapeworms can be removed with deworming.
This diet should be avoided because tapeworm eggs can move to other parts of the body, causing problems that can be life-threatening. For example, if a tapeworm enters the brain, you can experience headaches, confusion, seizures, and even death.
Cabbage soup diet
People who follow the cabbage soup diet believe that they can lose about 4.5 kg by eating cabbage soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner during the week. Cabbage soup is eaten daily with certain vegetables and fruits, 4-8 glasses of water and a multivitamin.
The cabbage soup diet can make you lose weight fast, but it's unhealthy and dangerous. There are no health experts who support this extreme diet. If you do that, you won't necessarily lose weight. What happens is that you will feel very hungry.
500 calorie diet
As the name suggests, this extreme diet only allows its adherents to eat as much as 500 calories per day. This method is quite extreme because it requires you to reduce the amount of food you consume every day.
This kind of extreme diet is usually intended for those who are very obese and unable to lose weight after trying different types of diets. However, this extreme diet requires medical supervision because of the risk of causing the body to lack vitamins and minerals.
Cleansing diet or lemon detox diet
This type of extreme diet is prohibited from consuming solid food or alcohol, only allowed to consume three types of drinks, namely lemon water, salt water, and herbal laxative tea. Generally this type of diet is done for 10 days. The purpose of this lemon diet is to lose weight, detoxify the digestive system, and make the body more fresh and healthy.
However, this extreme diet makes the body lack many important nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, protein, carbohydrates, fats, and fiber. This diet is also at risk of causing dizziness, headaches, diarrhea and nausea. There is no scientific evidence that this diet can actually eliminate toxins from the body.
